Adaptation of the award-winning Inanimate Alice series for French-speaking audiences
We are pleased to be working with Bradfield Narrative Designs on the next iteration of the long-standing digital fiction series Inanimate Alice to make Episodes 5-6 browser-based and multi-lingual through WebGL. We have been collaborators on this series for over 12 years.
As part of their research activities on digital literary and educational practices, researchers from the Mobile Quebec Literature Partnership and Lab-yrinthe have joined forces with the publisher BradField Narrative Designs to make available the interactive work Inanimate Alice for French-speaking audiences and to test it with school audiences.
Organized in six episodes, published between 2005 and 2024, Inanimate Alice is a success of digital literature, recipient and finalist of numerous literary and digital artistic awards.
The story relates the adventures of a young girl, Alice, who has been brought up traveling with her parents in different countries of the world. Rethinking the work and its didactic use for Quebec teaching programs will equip school audiences with new digital content, targeting new literacy and multimodal skills.
Inanimate Alice 2.0 launches in 2024.
