Who looks after you and who do you look after?
Loose Ends is a digital journal and embroidered family tree created by Dreaming Methods with Polite Rebellion, a disabled-led company facilitating the practice of Leeds-based artist Ellie Harrison.
The project explores how family histories and genealogies might not show who really looks after us or who we care for the most. It launched on 22nd November 2024 and included a series of events inviting you to make space for your chosen family tree in a gentle and participatory installation. Find out more here
Our digital art piece/website for Loose Ends includes a graphically-rich interactive journal with mixed media and multi-layered pages, alongside spoken word audio and links to research resources. Available to explore now.
"Working with Dreaming Methods has been an absolute joy. Working with artists we could really trust and who brought so much reliability, care and nuance to what they do made for a very relaxing experience. You feel you are in very safe hands with them and the details are all taken care of. They are so wonderfully skilled and combine this with warmth and passion.'
Ellie Harrison, Artistic Director of Polite Rebellion
