This two-scene demo incorporates a technology here we use to create virtual museums. Although it doesn't run directly from Unity output, the scenes themselves are created in Unity and captured as 360 images/video. The results are extremely fast and light-weight and look fantastic on mobile. We've never tried using this tech to tell a story, but my feeling is it could be a good fit for future episodes or mini-adventures. View full screen
This approach is powerful because it's incredibly quick and works across the board on more or less any device, including VR. Scenes do not have to be purely made of 360 images, they can be 360 video as well - imagine the tube train arriving in full motion video for example. There is no 3D object rendering here. Content can include text overlays, images and videos mapped onto surfaces, e-learning 'score' mechanisms and pop-out content of any kind (including WebGL).
